Welcome to South Seattle Community College's
A.P.P.L.E. Parenting Program!

The A.P.P.L.E. (A Positive Parent Learning Experience) Parenting Program is a parent education and support program for parents who are having a difficult time with their young children or who feel a need for additional support, information, and networking with other parents. Available without cost for all families with children under the age of nine. Spanish interpreters are available for most classes. We currently offer the following:

General Parenting ~ Six, eleven week classes each year for parents of children from birth through age eight.

These classes provide a separate children’s program for children under age nine and a parent-child interaction "lab" where parents and children play together or make crafts.

Baby-and-Me ~ Nine, eleven week classes each year for parents and their infants.

These classes offer parent-infant activities and parent discussion and support. ‘Baby-and-Me’ classes serve families with children through eighteen months of age. ‘Baby-and-Me’ is administered in conjunction with White Center Public Health.

Other A.P.P.L.E. Parenting Projects ~ The A.P.P.L.E. Parenting Program also partners with other agencies to provide parenting and family support programming targeted for specific populations.

Current programming includes the parenting and parent-child components of a Family Literacy Program at Sea Mar Community Health Center in South Park and apartment based parent-child programming at the Samara Apartment Complex in Tukwila.
